And I saw seven angels standing before me, and each had a golden trumpet.
First Trumpet (8:7)
The angel sounded the trumpet, and a dew of truth descended from heaven:
‘Look upon the Earth; it is your home!’
And mankind, their hearts moved, broke the chains of indifference and began to heal the wounded earth.
Second Trumpet (8:8–9)
The second trumpet sounded, and a bright star, like a torch of love, fell into the seas.
The waters, once darkened by selfishness, became pure and transparent, and the peoples learnt to cherish them as sacred.
‘Every drop is life,’ they said.
Third Trumpet (8:10–11)
At the third blast, the star of Wisdom fell from the heavens, and the rivers of hatred and falsehood were transformed into rivers of compassion.
‘Drink the water of forgiveness,’ cried the angel, and all who thirsted for justice quenched their thirst together.
Fourth Trumpet (8:12)
The fourth trumpet sounded, and a new radiance enveloped the sun, the moon and the stars.
Mankind realised: ‘You are all children of the same light’, and the wars ceased.
Swords were forged into ploughshares, and the nights became peaceful.
Fifth Trumpet (9:1–11)
At the fifth trumpet, a wind of knowledge blew over the peoples, and hardened hearts melted like wax in the sun.
‘Arise, ye who sleep!’ proclaimed the angel, and humanity awoke from the slumber of ignorance.
Sixth Trumpet (9:13–21)
At the sound of the sixth trumpet, they saw the seeds of unity sprouting, and the peoples of the East and West joined together in an eternal covenant.
‘No more divisions,’ they proclaimed, ‘you are free! No longer a single flock under one Shepherd.’
Seventh Trumpet (11:15–19)
Finally, the seventh angel sounded, and a voice thundered in the heavens:
‘The kingdom of this world has become the Kingdom of all hearts!
There shall be understanding, and the Earth shall be like a paradise in full bloom’.
Then a song was heard, never heard before: the chorus of all creatures, in harmony with the stars.
(Renaissance 21:1–4)
‘And I saw a new heaven and a new earth,
for sorrow and destruction had fled.
And He who lives within us all said:
“Behold, I make all things new.”’
