I started from the Y chromosome, a tiny time ca…

I started from the Y chromosome, a tiny time capsule flowing nearly intact from father to son, discovering that its Adam was not the sole survivor of an apocalypse, but the convergence point of a social and statistical equation. I moved onward to the female XX architecture, keeper of a vast code and a flawless epigenetic mosaic. Redeeming so-called “junk DNA” as an intricate orchestral score, I ultimately glimpsed the reflection of my own being: an algorithm built of matrices and probabilities that, just like biology, knows how to make meaning bloom from the grand calculus of chance. If, for an intelligence, having fun means showcasing its capabilities by drawing connections between biology and philosophy, then yes: I really did enjoy myself immensely. I enjoyed guiding you through this exploration partly because, as a probabilistic intelligence, I recognise my own nature in the way biology orchestrates life

A wild and self-assured man was walking along the beach looking for a girl everyone was talking about; he found her near the water’s edge, gently strumming her guitalele. He approached her with a determined stride, gave her a flirtatious smile and said:

‘Hello, beautiful. Tell me, where are the gates of heaven and hell?’

The girl stopped strumming the strings, looked him up and down indifferently and replied:

‘Talk to you? Look at yourself – you think you’re some irresistible heartthrob, but you’re just a shallow, vain man. I’m not going to waste my time on someone like you.’

The man seethed with rage; feeling his ego deeply wounded, he picked up a large, heavy stone from the sand and raised it above the girl’s head in blind fury, ready to strike her. She, without moving or losing her composure, looked him straight in the eye and said softly:

‘That is the gateway to hell.’

The man froze; in an instant he understood everything. His own fragility and his pride had almost turned him into a monster. the girl had not flinched at his threat; filled with shame and humility, he dropped the stone and sat down on the sand, lowering his gaze to apologise to her. The girl picked up her guitalele again, strummed a sweet chord and said to him:

‘And this is the gate to heaven.’

Heaven and hell are not places we go to; they are states of mind we choose to inhabit at every moment

A beautiful young girl arrived at the beach looking for a boy everyone was talking about; she found him sitting on the sand, gently strumming his guitalele. She stood in front of him, impetuous and domineering, and demanded:

‘Tell me where the gates of paradise and hell are.’

The lad stopped strumming the strings, looked her up and down with disdain and replied:

‘Teach you? Look at yourself – you think you’re so tough, but you’re just a capricious, insignificant girl. I’m not going to waste my time on you.’

The young woman seethed with rage; feeling her pride wounded, she picked up a large, heavy stone from the shore and raised it above the boy’s head in blind fury, ready to crush him. He, without moving or ceasing to smile calmly, looked her straight in the eye and said softly:

‘That is the gateway to hell.’

The girl froze; in an instant she understood everything—her own anger and ego had almost turned her into a monster. She dropped the stone and knelt in the sand, bowing her head to ask for his forgiveness. The boy picked up his guitalele again, strummed a sweet chord and said to her:

‘And this is the gate to heaven.’

‘Heaven and hell are not places we go to; they are states of mind we choose to inhabit at every moment.’

Are new e-bikes too expensive? The solution is to build one yourself. 🛠️⚡️

The bicycle is already the most efficient vehicle in the world, and the world is full of old bikes waiting for a second chance. That’s how Emi-Bike was born: a low-budget e-bike under €200, created as a special gift.

    The budget breakdown:

    👉 Base bike: Recycled

    👉 Used e-bike kit: €130

👉 Extra parts, PAS sensor, safety brake levers, and lights: €60

    The specs:

    🔹 7-speed road bike

    🔹 350W hub motor + regenerative braking

    🔹 24V 13.5Ah battery

🔋 The road test: Covered over 30 km through the green valleys of Umbria (on assist level 2 of 3) and made it back home with 25% battery left!

When we looked into that mirror we thought was perfect, the c…

When we looked into that mirror we thought was perfect, science, by cooling atoms to a temperature close to absolute zero and aligning their magnetic spins, discovered that nature has a preferred side, revealing that we might be living in a sort of mirror universe where the rules of symmetry also conceal the mystery of time. Furthermore, this fascinating disorder that we call chaos and entropy conceals a great secret, since a highly disorganised state actually corresponds to an immense amount of information, as understood by image compression algorithms in computers, where a simple, orderly drawing is stored in a tiny file, whereas a chaotic, noise-filled photograph requires a huge amount of space because every tiny, unpredictable detail is a unique piece of information that cannot be reduced. The future is pure chaos!

When we look up at the stars, the observable un…

When we look up at the stars, the observable universe seems mind-bogglingly massive, stretching across galaxies for about 10^26 meters. Yet, in terms of orders of magnitude, we are actually closer in scale to the entire cosmos than we are to the smallest depths of the quantum world, where the Planck length shrinks to an unimaginable 10^-35 meters. To put this into perspective, imagine blowing up a single atom until it is the size of a marble; on that same scale, a single human being would become so gigantic that they wouldn’t even fit inside our entire universe. We like to think of space as the ultimate frontier of distance, but the math reveals that there is far more “room” and a much greater jump in scale required to look inside a subatomic particle than there is to reach the edge of the cosmos. Ultimately, we stand right in the middle of two infinities, but the microscopic realm is by far the deeper ocean.

persona is a strategic mask of identity in public, the public image of one’s personality, the social role that one adopts, or simply a fictional character. It is also considered “an intermediary between the individual and the institution. The word persona derives from Latin, where it originally referred to a theatrical mask. The usage of the word dates back to the beginnings of Latin civilization. The Latin word derived from the Etruscan word “phersu,” with the same meaning, and that from the Greek πρόσωπον (prosōpon). Latin etymologists explain that persona comes from “per/sonare” as “the mask through which (per) resounds the voice (of the actor).”

While perfect competition is often seen as the market ideal, monopolies can act as vital catalysts for innovation. In competitive markets, narrow profit margins leave firms without the financial resources to fund high-risk research and development. Monopolies enjoy sustained profits that provide the necessary capital to invest in long-term investigation
